How I can help
For grief that has had nowhere to go, whether recent or carried quietly for years.
Path of Calm offers gentle complementary support with grief and bereavement in Morecambe and online. Access Bars and Reiki give the nervous system rest without asking you to talk, while Rapid Transformational Therapy can help where grief has been held in for years. This sits alongside bereavement counselling and medical care rather than replacing them.
Bereavement, grief and loss reach all of us at some point. The feelings around loss deserve the place, the space and the time to be felt and worked through, and often our circumstances, our upbringing or simply the pace of life do not allow it. So we block the natural expression of sadness, anger or pain, and carry on.
Recent grief, or years of unexpressed grief, eventually needs somewhere to go.
In days gone by, people allowed themselves and each other a period of mourning. Today most people just keep going. Marisa Peer puts it this way: the feeling that cannot find its expression in tears might cause other organs to weep.
I see this often. Someone arrives with bodily pain or a symptom that will not settle, and it traces back to a time of loss, and to a sentence like I never cried, I just carried on.
Whatever you are feeling, try not to push it away or down with food, drink or medication. Grief is normal. You are supposed to feel it. Support exists to make that more bearable, not to make it disappear.
Access Bars and Reiki ask nothing of you. You lie down, fully clothed, and someone else holds the space for an hour. For raw grief that is often exactly right.
Rapid Transformational Therapy is better suited to grief that has been held in for a long time, or that is tangled up with guilt or something unsaid. It can help unlock feelings safely so the grieving can actually happen.
When we lost seven family members within as many months, Access Bars was my own lifeline. I had my Bars run weekly.
It did not take the loss away. Nothing does, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What it did was let me feel the sadness with more ease than I expected, and keep hold of some gratitude at a time when that might have been impossible. Thoughts and feelings could move rather than sit. The losses were still fully honoured; I just was not drowning.
That is why I offer it, and why I will never overstate it.

Client stories
“After my 1st Access Bars session, I had real clarity. I felt like I had more lightness in my life. Renate is such a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental person who helped me to pick up on issues that no longer served me, so I could release them. I would highly recommend a treatment with Renate.”
“I just wanted to say thank you for your support. I'm not sure that I would have had the confidence to make such a leap without the therapy you provide.”
“I contacted Renate as I had lost my motivation to exercise, I wanted to figure out why and fix the issue. Renate was immediately welcoming and compassionate and led me through the session with ease and understanding. I finished the session feeling amazing and having the answers to my question. I was able to pick up the weight training I had once loved and find the lost motivation to exercise, thanks to Renate and her positive transformational skills. I listen to her recording each evening and I am feeling more confident and happy in my day to day life generally. I cannot thank her enough for helping me.”

Questions
Neither, really. Some people come within weeks because they need somewhere to put it, others come decades later when something finally surfaces. Renate has worked with both. If you are very recently bereaved, Access Bars or Reiki may suit you better than anything that asks you to talk.
Only if you want to. Access Bars and Reiki ask nothing of you: you lie down, fully clothed, and rest. Rapid Transformational Therapy does involve talking, but always at your pace, and you decide how much detail you share.
No, and it is not meant to. These are complementary therapies that sit alongside bereavement counselling, your GP and any other support you have. Renate will happily work alongside a counsellor, and will say so if she thinks counselling would serve you better.
The first call lasts twenty minutes and it is free. You can say as much or as little as you like about what is going on, and ask me anything you want to.
